Personal Training Services

How do I differ from the rest?

Each personal trainer, will have his or her own forte. The things they’re excellent, good and mediocre at. Now at risk of being a marketing disaster, I’ll list what I’m excellent, good and mediocre at. I’ll even list what I suck at.

Excellent.

I’m pretty darned excellent, at technique analysis. I’ll be able to spot whether your technique is wrong or right, and whether you’ll risk injury within seconds. How do I do that? I look at your hips. No actually I look at your head position, shoulder, back angle, hips, knee and ankle. Trust me, just spend a few thousand hours in the weight room looking at hundreds of lifters, and that skill will come to you.

So if you’re looking for a personal trainer, that can analyze your technique and minimize your chances of injury, I’m the guy to look for.

Good.

I’m also pretty good at programming training. I began  having deep interest in programming because I felt that the one reason people quit training, is because of the lack of progress. By consistent measurable progression, one morale is boosted and they feel their efforts are paying off. It’s like a business. If it takes 20 years for the business to bear fruit, one will likely diversify that business. However, in training, diversifying isn’t one of the options.

Train with me, and I’ll enable you to consistently make progress. That’s after all, one of the reason I go back to train every day. I love seeing the progress. And I love seeing my clients progress.

Mediocre.

I’m mediocre (and all my clients will attest to this), softening words. I admit. I am horrible at this. If you aren’t giving your best, trust me I’ll know. That’s when the “Sam, what’s in your head? You’re paying me money to train you, if you don’t get up and do your best, I will knock your teeth out while you’re resting.” I’m sorry if you’re looking for someone who will tolerate nonsense and mediocrity.

I suck at

I totally suck at marketing. I do. I won’t for the life of me, be able to be as convincing as the other guy. Why?

I was trained by coaches of former communists nations. Russians, Bulgarians, Chinese. Georgians. There’s only one thing they care about, and it’s results.I remember what Mr.Bulgarian said; “Questions, tomorrow. Action, now. Competition fighting. Do!“ The best part, is he says this while swinging his walking stick all over his head and you can’t help but wonder why it never hits him.

There’s one thing I’ve found to be extremely consistent with coaches of these nations. They explain, to the finest point of the purpose of the movement and how to do it well. Ask them the second time, and they’ll bite your head off. No I won’t bite your head off, but I’ll just explain the points, and that’s, that.

Summary

So if you think you can accept how I am as a trainer, feel free to contact me at kirksman@gmail.com. I’ll get you stronger, faster, flexible, fit and above all, injury free. Oh did I mention? One of my topic of interest is prehab and rehabilitation. I develop foundations in people, to minimize injury and maximize wellness.
